my mother recipi fish aruan

my mother just had another minor surgery on her left foot, the fourth one since January this year. Basically one surgery every month. So many people told me to eat 'Ikan Haruan'. It's a fish, in Malay the word 'Ikan' means 'fish'. So if we translate directly will be 'Haruan Fish'. Why did they urge me to eat this fish. Okay I tried to translate this fish properly in English, so it was called 'Snakehead Fish'. Hearing this name, I think would scare many people to even think of eating this, if you are scared of anything that look like a snake, for example me. But since I need to focus more on healing my mother wound, so I will not think about the look or the name. I must only focus on healing  my mother foot.
Ikan haruan aka Snakehead fish (Channa striatus) is a freshwater fish belongs to Channidae family and it is a carnivorous fish. This fish is indigenous to many Asian countries and believed to have medical value. Studies showed that it contains all the essential amino acids and fatty acids able to accelerate wound healing and it has antinociceptive effect. This fish was used for medicinal purposes with proven wound healing effects. Read the detailed study here Source
Today, I went to a night market in Chow Kit Road Kuala Lumpur, in search of this fresh fish. When we reached there, we asked around and was told to go and see one fish seller. I was screaming here and there and jumping around like a mad woman because I saw some rats running around in that market area and some of them were rushing towards me. Like they knew I were scared of them. They actually did not bother to run at anyone else but me, but maybe my paranoia was causing that :D. No thanks I will not go near that place again ever and ever.
When we found the fish seller, we asked her whether she sells any 'Ikan Haruan'? She said 'yes' and put her hand inside one big container and took out a live fish. I was shocked to see that fish and almost ran in panic. She said 'Jangan Takut' (Don't be scared). I stopped and I could see that fish was still alive and active. When I have agreed for the price at MYR52 for one fish, she started beating that fish to kill it before she starts to cut it. I can't bear to see that scene so I just looked the other way around and told her to cut the fish into pieces and please please throw away the head.
I will think thrice to go to that slimy night market area. So, finally today I will make Snakehead Fish Soup.
